This is only needed, if you had the old eduroam setup of HITS (before October 2024) installed.
via Windows command line (with administrator rights):
Check the WLAN profiles
netsh wlan show profiles
Delete the Eduroam profile
netsh wlan delete profile name="eduroam"
1. Download the certificate eduroam2024_ca.der
2. Double click on it
3. Click “install certificate”
4. Choose “current user”
5. Select “Trusted Root Certification Authorities” and click “OK”
6. Finish the certificate installation
7. Accept the warning with “Yes”
8. You should get a successful info
9. Open the “Control Panel”
10. Click on the “Network and Sharing Center”
11. Click “Set up a new connection or network”
12. Choose “Manually connect to wireless network”
13. “Network Name” has to be eduroam (all small letters) and choose “WPA2-Enterprise” for “Security Type”
14. Click “Change connection settings”
15. Click on the “Security” Tab and click the “Settings” button right to the authentication method
16. Please fill in the text fields and choose the installed certificate. For Windows 10, in the “Enable Identity Privacy” field, type only “eduroam2024” instead of “eduroam2024@h-its.org”.
17. Click “Configure” right next to the “Select Authentication Method:”
Deactivate (no hook) the Windows logon feature and click ok
18. Click “OK” again to come back to the “Security” Tab
Click "Advanced settings"
19. Activate the “Specify authentication mode” and choose “User authentication”
20. Finish the installation by clicking “OK” and “close”
21. choose the eduroam wireless lan
22. At the first login you have to sign in with «username»@h-its.org and your password
23. The connection should now be established
