eduroam 2024 for Android Tables and smartphones
Delete old eduroam profile
This is only needed, if you had the old eduroam setup of HITS (before October 2024) installed.
1. Go to Settings and “Connections”
2. Click on the eduroam settings
3. Click “Forget”
Download the new certificate
Download the certificate eduroam2024_ca.crt
Configure the new eduroam profile
Samsung Tablet Android 11
1. Go to Settings
2. Click “Biometrics and security” ⇒ “Other security settings”
3. Click “Install from device storage”
4. Mark the downloaded certificate ⇒ in the most cases under your downloads und go through
5. Mark the certificate and click “Done”
6. You should see the installed certificate
7. Go to the “Connections” settings and click the eduroam network
8. Fill in the authentication form and finish the setup
- Authentication: Protected EAP (PEAP)
- Username: <your username>@h-its.org
- Password: <your password>
- CA certificate: select the installed certificate
- Domain: h-its.org (not needed on all Android devices)
- Anonymous identity: eduroam2024@h-its.org
9. The connection should now be established
Google Pixel 8 Android 14
1. Go to the downloaded certificate and click it
2. Choose “Install certificate”
3. Choose “WiFi certificate”
4. Choose a new name for the new certificate like “hits-eduroam2024”
5. Go to the wireless connection and choose eduroam
6. Fill in the authentication form and finish the setup
- Authentication: Protected EAP (PEAP)
- Username: <your username>@h-its.org
- Password: <your password>
- CA certificate: select the installed certificate
- Domain: h-its.org (not needed on all Android devices)
- Anonymous identity: eduroam2024@h-its.org
7. The connection should now be established
